- PL a–b
- ≈ SIL 1 (low risk)
- PL c–d
- ≈ SIL 2 (medium risk)
- PL e
- ≈ SIL 3 (high risk)
The required SIL/PL is determined by a risk graph; the total chain of chosen components (sensor+logic+actuator) must meet this level.
