Danfoss VLT FC302 — Alarm 7 DC Link Overvoltage
Occurs when the DC-link voltage exceeds the upper limit. Fast deceleration and regenerative energy are the main causes.

Symptoms
- Alarm 7 on deceleration
- Recurs on high-inertia loads
- Occurs when supply is high
Probable Causes
- Too-short ramp-down time (par. 3-42)
- No brake resistor/chopper
- OVC (overvoltage control) off
- Supply overvoltage
Checkpoints
- Increase ramp-down time (par. 3-42)
- Enable OVC (par. 2-17)
- Check the brake resistor
Solution
First extend the ramp-down time and enable OVC; frequent stops require a brake resistor.
