Danfoss VLT FC302 — Alarm 8 DC Link Undervoltage

Occurs when the DC-link drops below the lower limit. Supply sag, phase loss or capacitor ageing is the cause.

Symptoms

  • Alarm 8 on power/load
  • Frequent during supply fluctuations
  • Stop under load

Probable Causes

  • Supply voltage sag
  • Input phase loss
  • Capacitor ageing
  • Soft-charge (precharge) circuit failure

Checkpoints

  • Measure mains under load
  • Verify input phases
  • Inspect the precharge circuit

Solution

If mains is healthy, the precharge circuit and capacitors are checked at board level.
